Submission Guidelines

How to register & submit work:



- If you this is your first time using ArtCall, start by registering for a free account. Click the 'Register' button in the upper right corner, and fill in your details.

- Once registered, click the 'login' button and the 'Add New Application' button to add entries.
 
What to know:

- The exhibition will be on view from January 23-February 26, 2023. It will be installed across several spaces in Brown’s Granoff Center for the Creative Arts, including Cohen Gallery (at the front of the building, facing the new Performing Arts Center), the “living rooms” (spaces with seating, off of the stairs), projections on walls in the atrium, and hallways & elevator bays throughout the building.
- We welcome submissions from all students currently enrolled in the Brown|RISD Dual Degree program. It is juried by a student Executive Committee, and installed/photographed/advertised/etc. by student Subcommittees.
- Jurors will see artists’ cohort year but not their name or concentration/major.
- Each artist may submit a maximum of 3 works for consideration
- All submissions (including works in progress) should include photos, videos, or sketches; maximum of six per work. It is preferred that digital work (film/video, audio) be submitted through a link or as a .mp3 or .mp4 file. Please be prepared to take needed photographs of your work before submitting.
- You will also be asked for the title, year of creation dimensions, and materials used in the piece.
Submissions must also include a list of materials used, dimensions and a description of the installation method and materials needed.

- You will be asked to describe how the work would be installed.  You may be asked to provide your own installation materials/equipment.
- All work must adhere to any relevant Brown University Environmental Health and Safety guidelines
- Submissions of works in progress are accepted, and may be accepted on a tentative basis and may require status updates and/or additional review by the jury upon completion. For proposals of 2D/3D work, please be prepared to provide estimates for all of the information listed above (dimensions, materials, description, etc.). Images can include sketches, materials, and installation plans. For performances – we may be able to incorporate performance art or live music event into the public reception (January 26, 2023) or a BRDD-only event in February. Please provide a description of your performance, including relevant information such as the duration and equipment needs.
